Stoncica on Vis island, Croatia is a beautiful cove with sandy sea bottom on the eastern side of the island Vis, located eight kilometers from the town of Vis. Access to the bay is possible only on foot or by boat which protects its environment from cars, motorbikes and excessive load of visitors. Visitors can enjoy in golden sand, crystal clear sea and the views over yachts moored in the bay. The experience is completed by delicious dishes, based on local traditional recipes, served in a beach restaurant, only few meters from the sea.
At the coves gate, on its southern cape, Stoncica lighthouse notifies ships that passes through Hvar channel about shallow waters. It is the last human inhabited lighthouse on the Adriatic sea. It is recommended to visit the lighthouse, however in occasions workers at the lighthouse exhibit the sign "No trespassing". Stoncica bay offers lovely scenery, many islands and coves around to visit using taxi boat service.
Stoncica private accommodation
On both sides of the Stoncica cove there are houses offering private accommodation, mostly in apartments units. Private accommodation properties at Stoncica make use of its proximity to the sea creating a small concrete and stone slab beaches with piers for their guests boats. In some cases, house owners offers to their guests boat transfer between Vis town and Stoncica on arrival and departure, mostly because it is easier to carry luggage from the pier in front of the house than carrying luggage from the public parking space, about 400m away from the bay itself.
